Fordite, the jewellry made from paint

Fordite are brightly coloured jewels that usually come in breath takingly beautiful swirls. The thing you should know about Fordite is that they are not gem stones but rather paint dried up and built up layer upon layer by car painting factories.
That was before painting of cars became an automatic process. During the pre- robotic car painting era  where cars were spray painted by hand, over  hundreds of layers of paint would build up in thousands of of colour until it hardened with heat.

People who had an eye for art picked up the dried pieces of paint and took them home.

Nollywood movie producer, Dickson Iroegbu has come out publicly to ask former President Good luck Jonathan to forgive him and others for ganging up against his government when he attempted to remove oil subsidy.

He says in his open letter "Dear Dr. Good luck Ebele Jonathan, I write to apologize on behalf of myself and the many repentant Nigerians like me
who ganged up against your government in 2012. Your government's policy to remove subsidy on the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as patrol was completely misconstrued by us."

He reveals "I was personally deceived by my overzealous comradely towards millions of Nigerians who had travelled to various locations at that time to spend Christmas with their loved ones. I was particularly concerned about NDIIGBO who traditionally returned home in droves during this period every year."

He added "Sir, like millions of Nigerians I worked for your victory at the polls in 2011, but I considered the untoward hardship the removal of subsidy on the 1st of January 2012 as insensitive. It was simply seen as going to inflict serious hardship on the millions who voted you to power; hence we arose against it.

He continued"...Sir, the economy that flourished under your watch as President which positioned us as number one economy in Africa and one of 25 fastest growing economies in the world is now at its lowest ebb in just one year of misrule. In just one year of your exit Nigeria our beloved country has become a shadow of herself! The picture is so gloomy, inflation rate is so high! The masses cannot even put food on their tables, darkness everywhere, electricity generation is at all time very lowest - killings and maiming, evil looms; our nation Nigeria is under attack!

Woman wakes up to find a swarm of bees resting on her car

A swarm of over 20,000 bees latched unto the back of this woman car for over 28 hours. The reason for the odd occurence? the queen bee had gotten stuck in the cars trunk, hence the whole colony had to make the car their new home.

Yuck! ewww! this is like my worst nightmare ever!

Bloggers Diary: The thing about consistency

Consistency is the keyword in blogging, this i've come to understand from all the blogging how to's and blogging do's and don'ts that I have read online. I started this blog in November, I remember it was the same day I also got a shitty Job and I needed to write to make myself feel better, writing has always been my way of venting or finding closure.
Technically speaking I started blogging in 2013, reticentamnot.wordpress.com was my first blog but I lost it sort of. I started africacanread.blogspot.com but I decided to change the domain name becase a lot of people were having problems remembering the name and I felt the name was confining and boring.

So I came up with shinkafa.blogspot.com

Why shinkafa?
shinkafa is rice in Hausa, Rice is something that every race in the world eats and can relate to. I think it is the most commonly eating food in the world. This is not a food blog if anything it is the farthest thing from a food blog. But rice is more than Just being food it is habit, it is a culture, it is something that will never go out of time, there is something comfortable and reassuring about rice. Rice is something that you find in any part of.the world,  rice is something that you would feel comfortable eating even if you found yourself in the Northpole or in Atlantis. When there is rice it feels like you have a bit of home with you.

Thats what shinkafa.blogspot.com represents, its home, that part of the internet that anyone can go to and they would find a bit of themselves there, were they can relate to something in the content that has been writen or posted.

shinkafa.bogspot.com is also gives me a voice, I can tell my stories here and may be just may be someday I would find an audience that would find my stories appealing.

Getting my blog out there and getting an audience has been a major challenge, I have read all the material I could possibly read on Content marketing and SEO optimization and I understand that to get an audience you need to put your self ou there.

"putting yourself out there" doesn't work so easily for everyone especially if you are me, I am the most introverted and solitude loving person you will ever meet. I share my content on Facebook and Google+ but from what little research I've done i'll have to do a lot more marketing than that.

I'm also learning how to be consistent, considering the fact that I am phlegmatic and INFP that has been a tad bit difficult but then again I really have no excuses.

I also have kogiproperties.blogspot which I plan on making a website. owning a commercial real estate website has been a long dream of mine. I hope that in the short run I will be able to put measures in me place for both sites to have authority on the web.

I hope that may be 4 years from now I can look back at this post, smile and thump my chest and say that I did it.

Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor better known as Mama G, has left many wondering if she has left the movie industry or just taking some time off to serve God as the actress is now seen at almost all crusades in the country.
The actress, who is known for her wicked roles in movies is being rumoured to be born again as she now goes about preaching in various churches and crusades.
According to reports by Starttell who caught up with the actress recently at a church programme in Imo state, she disclosed that it was the Holy Spirit that ministered to her during one of her new year retreats which she organises for herself.
She explained that she was asked to to fast for 21 days but when she complained, the fasting was increased to 30days and she was also warned to stop wearing trousers and jeweries.
During this fasting period, The Lord revealed to her, how she will be a voice for him all over the world, how people's attention will be channeled from her image on Nollywood to The Gospel.
She said that Putting on Makeup, wearing Jewelry and putting on Trousers as a Lady is wrong, adding that she has been preaching to colleagues in Nollywood, but God told her to put off her Dreads, to stop wearing Jewelries and Trousers, that she could have gone to Hell, if she died December 31, 2015 despite the preaching she's been doing, just because of her appearance.

'Were you scared? Not comfortable with a black man sitting next to you?'
She told him not to 'pull the race card' and claimed she dated a black man in college as a defense, according to Thomas' post.
The man offered to give Thomas his seat, but the former basketball player turned it down and took a photograph instead to share with his 43,274 followers.
She was upset that he took the photo without her consent, and tried to enlist the Amtrak conductor, Thomas wrote in the post.
He wrote: 'So the conductor came up and said, "Hey Etan Thomas, love what you’re doing in the community, loved you with the Wizards...@
'And I said: "Was there something you wanted to tell my man?"'

Japan set to introduce new line of robotic taxis

Robot Taxi Inc., a Tokyo-based company, is gearing up to bring self-
driving robot taxis to Japan’s roads early next year. They’ve invited
residents to try out the taxi service in Fujisawa, in Kanagawa Prefecture.
50 people are all set to take part in the experiment.

According to Robot Taxi, the new cabs will take residents to pre-decided
supermarkets about three kilometers from their homes. A company
attendant will be present in the driver’s seat for safety reasons. The self-
driving cars will be equipped with GPS, millimeter-wave radar, stereo vision
    cameras, and image analysis technologies.
The local government is fully supportive of the firm’s initiative, given that
they’ve already tested automated cars on expressways before. But this will
be the first time on local roads with residents. “This time, the robot taxi
experiment will be conducted on actual city streets,” said government
    official Yuji Kuroiwa.

Robot Taxi president Hiroshi Nakajima said that this will probably be the
first test in the world to offer automated cars to actual residents for
shopping trips. If the test run next year is successful, it will pave the way
for a broader launch of automated taxis in Japan in 2020. Nakajima also
revealed that the firm plans on testing other applications of the car, like
how it can be used during natural disasters.

“There are a lot of people who say it’s impossible,” said Shinjiro Koizumi,
son of former prime minister Junichiro Koizumi. “But I think this will
    happen faster than people expect.”
Robot Taxi is a joint venture between DeNA Co., a maker of video games –
go figure – and ZMP Inc., a developer of automated driving technologies.
